The newest vehicle Eagle Two is equipped with 5m2 photovoltaic panels, a battery with a capacity of 14.5 kWh and 2 BLDC engines with a power of 5kW each. The construction of the car is made mostly of carbon fiber, and its total weight is only 380 kg. We had the pleasure to take part in the modernization works of the car and to help the team with our technical knowledge in installing glass with our adhesive solutions. In this case, the DuploCOLL 56003 tape was used.
We are eve more happy about the fact that the team of Lodz Solar Team took first place in the 24-hour race of electric vehicles powered by solar energy and the Lumen European Solar Challenge 2018. The competition took place on the Circuit Zolder racetrack on September 21-23 in Belgium. Despite continuous rainfall and slippery surfaces, the Polish car proved to be reliable and far ahead of the competition in the overall classification. The team raced with over 20 teams from around the world..
The next goals of the Lodz Solar Team for 2019-2020 are to be the first ones passing through Poland via a solar vehicle on the route Zakopane-Gdansk and the participation in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia.
We are happy that we have become a part of this project and of the huge success of the Polish team. We keep our fingers crossed for their next ventures!
